So, this post will be different for me since I am doing something very different from what I used to do when I make a post, and I feel this will help me get back into the flow of things and the flow of blogging again.
So how I normally create blog posts is as followed. I open up LibreOffice Writer, and I start writing down my thoughts. It can take me a few hours to a few days but that depends on what I am blogging about, and when I’m tagged in a blog post by someone, it can take a few days as I want to get everything down. I’m slow at typing, haha.
When I am done. I would normally post this onto my blog, and add a few more things and call it a day. But then I started using Grammarly and with that in the mix. What takes a few hours goes into days because I use it to find errors and tiny typos.
In Grammarly, I spend like 5 to 7 hours to a few days on a single post, finding grammar and other stuff in my post. And it takes so long because I get tired and I just stop to do other things because fixing your grammar for hours on end can kill the mood to post.
And this was a bad habit I got into. If I didn’t edit out the grammar and other issues, the blog post wouldn’t be worth posting, and I want to say this is a toxic mindset I formed but I am getting out of this mindset because I love to blog. I used to blog before without worrying too much about grammar. Sure, there were grammar issues here and there, but I made my posts clear enough where you can understand the message, even with the grammar mistakes.
I guess I have become self-conscious of what I do, and for blogging, that is pretty clear since I used to blog almost every day to now. I can put out one blog post if I am lucky. And this sucks but I think I will use Grammarly to fix the normal spelling mistakes but everything else, I will not touch, as I don’t want to spend 5 hours or more. I am going to break out of this prison, so to speak.
I have a lot of things I want to post, and I will do just that. I knew there was a reason why I was not blogging as much. And I spent days trying to figure out the answer, and I got my answer. It’s a crazy answer, but an answer, no less.
A quick question. What software do you use to blog? I use LibreOffice but I wanted to know if there are better document programs besides Microsoft Word?
Thank you for reading. This blog post is an odd one but I like to share stuff. And it is good I share things like this.
